Dave Borland grew up in Arkadelphia, AR. He went to high school at Arkadelphia High School. He attended both Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University. He completed his bachelor’s degree at HSU and then earned his J.D. at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1995. But becoming an attorney was not always at the forefront of David’s mind.
David served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. After his service he decided to return to school. While envisioning what field he might want to study, something his brother said stuck in his mind. “You could become a lawyer or whatever you want,” his brother said. David said this simple phrase stuck in his head and, as they say, the rest is history.
David says that Nolan Caddell Reynolds allows him to work with talented colleagues. This is due to the firm’s statewide presence and wealth of accomplished attorneys. In turn, this allows him to give clients peace of mind, something smaller firms don’t have the luxury of doing.
In his spare time, David enjoys traveling watching his daughter play basketball. He also likes to spend time with his wire-haired fox terrier, Casey. “My daughter and Casey help keep me young at heart,” David says.
David is married with four children, three of which are grown. He enjoys watching college sports. His favorite teams to watch are the Arkansas Razorbacks football and basketball teams.
